Cast Iron
This style of furniture generally consists of molded cast iron panels and parts. Some people confuse cast aluminium and cast iron pieces however cast iron furniture is extremely heavy and can sometimes show signs of rusting. Cast iron pieces can be brittle and can sometimes have cracked and broken parts. These settings should not be disassembled prior to restoration.

Aluminum
Unlike cast furniture made from molds, settings made from aluminium offer modern designs and are generally fabricated from high grade aluminium.Even though this metal is more superior and less prone to corrosion than cast alloys, constant exposure to harsh outdoor environments cause the coatings to become thin and flake causing the metal surface to break down and become white and chalky.
